Erin Johnson
Creative Director & Partner
With a rich background in cinematography, filmmaking, motion graphics, photography, and post-production, Erin is a creative force at Room3. Her work embodies Room3’s storytelling ethos - empowering people to share their stories with dignity, creativity, and authenticity. Erin joined Room3 to collaborate with humanitarian organizations and NGOs, helping bring important stories to life through ethical, impact-driven media.
She has filmed across the globe - from Bangladesh to Sierra Leone - capturing powerful narratives that highlight resilience and hope. Her work has earned humanitarian accolades, including the ARPA Gold “Most Original Campaign” Award and six PromaxBDA Awards for creative excellence.
AJ Clifford
Producer/Director & Partner
AJ founded Room3 in 2003 after recognising a need for specialised film production expertise in the humanitarian sector. Since then, he has filmed in over 30 countries, directing, producing, and editing untold stories that inspire empathy and understanding. Partnering with some of the world’s leading change makers and development organizations, AJ has helped shape how audiences engage with real-world issues. From being caught in monsoonal floods in Bangladesh while documenting the effects of climate change, to having films screened at HRAFF, his work continues to push creative and ethical boundaries. AJ also received recognition at the UNISDR Asia Disaster Risk Reduction Film Festival, winning an award for the impactful “End the Cycle” campaign.
The Room3 team has decades of combined experience working with vulnerable and marginalised communities across diverse cultures, backgrounds, ethnicities, and abilities.
Our approach is trauma-informed, ensuring safety, dignity, and respect in every interaction. All staff hold current Working with Children Checks and Police Checks, and have completed the ACFID Safeguarding Introduction and QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention Training.
